OVERVIEW
LeRoy High School needed a lunchroom as bold as their name. So we turned a plain block wall into a full castle scene, knights standing guard over the serving line.
Designed live on screen with the LeRoy team, every knight was drawn for them alone, whisks and spatulas in hand, sayings written just for LeRoy. Printed, laminated, and CNC-cut in our shop, then installed in days. Now the Knights Cafe is the most spirited room in the building.
THE BRIEF
The design turned a plain block serving wall into a full castle scene for the Oatkan Knights, fabricated in two weeks, installed in days, and built to hold up for the next 10 to 15 years.
Before, the room said nothing about the school. Plain walls, standard doors, no Knights in sight. The direction from LeRoy: unmistakably Knights, spirited but never childish.
Designed live on screen with the LeRoy team, then printed, laminated, and CNC-cut in our shop. Knights guard the wall with whisks and spatulas, and every saying was written for LeRoy alone.

The collaborative story
Designed live with
our knights
We were called in to look at the serving area and a possible storefront. Food Service Director Melissa Saunders wasn’t sure about doing the rest of the cafeteria, but once the design sessions started she got excited and kept moving around the room.
She brought in the principal and a local photographer. The student council named the Wordle and came up with every word on it, the principal added his core values, and her staff made sure the serving area had the look and feel they wanted.

We didn't design a cafeteria.
We designed somewhere they'd actually want to be.
And the kids? They noticed everything.
